My M42 / K mount Lenses : How I fell in love with vintage camera lenses (Briefly)

I am kind of new in the photography world, even tho my interest can be dated way back to the early 90's when i first received my first film roll camera, since then I moved in and out and photography never really took me in; but one day (early 2008) I bought my first DSRL, digital camera were becoming the next big thing ( Read cheap DSRL and increasing market penetration ), i was keeping some savings to buy a camera and when I finished my usual pre-shopping research I came out with just one name: Samsung GX-10 (alias Pentax K10D) it had just won the TIPA 2007 award for the best "Expert Digital SLR" and other major prizes, any review i could find was positive and best of all it was in the budget.

...it was love at first sight.

I have never been too much fan of the mainstream and always preferred niche stuff; with cameras I couldn't be any less. The fact that I have chosen a Pentax System was in fact a key element to become a vintage lens lover, Pentax is one of the oldest camera manufacturer in world and has a great history of superb optics and any previous K-mount lens is still usable with nowadays Pentax digital cameras, if you add a small m42 ring adapter than a whole world of opportunity opens up and instantly a huge amount of great glass at incredibly low price becomes available.

When you seriously start experimenting with photography (for the first two years I didn't get out of home without my camera - seriously- and all my spare time was shooting or researching ) you quickly feel the need of having more than a bundled 18-55mm zoom lens, and as soon as you start googling around for new optics you realize how expensive photography can be.

Fortunately, being a nerdy-geeky-artist with a great interest for old stuff completed the mix and a new passion was born, the first m42 Lens that I bought was the Volna 9, I literally spent months looking for the right lens to buy, reading recommendations, asking questions in the forums and waiting for the right target to pop up in the eBay listings ready to snipe it.

People says that when you as soon as you get a tattoo one you want one more, or maybe just as any addiction, you can't stop once you experience the rush of pleasure, and that little chunky piece of metal built with proud russian tank class steel did give joy, so, I bought more...

since then here are the babes i have been collecting some are russians some are Japanese but all are damn sexy.
